auth-debug NcFTPd general.cf file configuration
Don't forget to restart NcFTPd after modifying the general.cf file.

This option enables some extra logging (which will appear in the "misc" logs) related to user authentication, such as the user ID and group IDs assigned to the remote client session, as well as the user's home directory and whether the user is restricted. If NcFTPd is communicating with an "authd" (a custom authentication process), whether that diagnostic data is logged is also controlled by this option.

This option is often used to supplement verbose logging and often you will want to enable both options because verbose logging is responsible for reporting the authentication source (/etc/passwd, ncftpd_passwd database, or authd).

After enabling this option and/or verbose mode in the general.cf file, restart NcFTPd and try the user login again. The diagnostic data will then be viewable in the misc log. After resolving the problem, re-disable these options and re-restart NcFTPd.
